1. Alone
Homemade shortcutIn my first-year interaction design class, we had a mini-exercise that consisted of making a short film where we talked about a change that each of us had made. The goal was to be able to communicate a somewhat abstract message in a short time.
Alone was my proposal, where I tried to explain the mindset change that I had to do to start accepting that it was okay to be alone from time to time if that's what I wanted, with respect toin contrast of the conception I had when I was younger that I had to be very sociable and always be doing things with people to be happy. I translated this into a video by making the simile between two scenes, one where the protagonist is at a party and another where she drowns. Something curious about how I planned this video is that I did it through sound. I first edited an audio track marking two sound spaces, as well as the noises and what the narrator would say and then I recorded the images and incorporated them into the edition.
I had never done video before and the camera I had back then only recorded in 720p, so the way the video looks is not how I would like it to look right now. However, I think I represented in a fairly correct visual way the topic I wanted to talk about.
